New Zealand Golf Vacations and Golf Tours

Why choose New Zealand for a golf vacation or a golf tour?

Not only does New Zealand offers a fabulous range of Golf Courses combined with some of the most beautiful landscape in the world, it offers a variety of other activities from sampling some of the best food and wine on the planet to outdoor adventure ensuring you have a wonderful and memorable holiday. And when you combine all this with the exchange rate to the New Zealand dollar it becomes fabulous and affordable.

Golf courses vary from the spectacular cliff top courses of Kauri Cliffs and Cape Kidnappers (both ranked amongst the top courses in the world), high country courses with a backdrop of the Southern Alps, classic links golf and rural golf clubs where you are guaranteed a welcome. Whether you are a recreational or competitive player, there is something to suit.

Travel around New Zealand should be leisurely. Enjoy the scenery as you pass through it, stop and see the small towns and enjoy the laid back lifestyle.

An official handicap is required at a few courses, but many of the top courses are accessible to visiting players of all standards.  With more golf courses per capita than any other country, as a participation sport, Golf ranks no.1 for men and no.2 for women in New Zealand.

How do we help you plan your golf tour?

To start with, why not check out some of the golf tours we have?

Or if you only have a couple of days, check out the Short Golf Breaks.

The tours are run on a number of dates throughout the year, however we can also arrange tours specifically for your group.

  • What appeals to you and what else would you like to do, walking, sight seeing?
  • How much golf do you want to play, 18 holes a day, or every other day? And what sorts of courses? How many people will be in your group?

What else does New Zealand Offer?

  • Food and wine - fabulous wineries and the freshest of food where ever you go.
  • Flora, fauna and history - New Zealand has a very distinctive flora and fauna with Tree Ferns and the flightless Kiwi. The Maori arrived around 800 years ago and Europeans started arriving some 200 years ago.
  • Walking/tramping - from the magnificent one day Tongariro crossing across the North Island Volcanoes to 3 or 4 days walks through pristine bush. Please note that for some of the more popular tracks such as the Milford Track, booking is required.
  • Adventure sports - skiing, white water rafting, bungy jumping plus lots of others.
  • Hunting and Fishing - game fishing in the far north, trout fishing on the rivers or lakes, deer hunting and for the truly intrepid traveler, wild pig hunting.

What is the weather like?

New Zealand is a small country and the weather is greatly influenced by the surrounding oceans.  The East coast of both the North and South Islands tends to be drier and warmer than rest of the country. The north is subtropical whereas the South Island is hot in the summer and cold in the winter. As an island in a large ocean, the weather can be changeable but you'll get a warm welcome wherever you go.

If you live in the northern hemisphere, remember that the seasons down under are the other way around so escape your winters and come to a New Zealand summer.
