A one day excursion to Matakana Wine Country gives you the opportunity to enjoy a round of golf close to the vines followed by an exclusive wine tasting and delightful meal only an hour north of Auckland.
Take a casual drive up State Highway One or allow us to arrange your transport and then join us at your choice of one of three excellent golf courses at Mangawhai, Warkworth or Omaha.(see panel for details.)
Following your round of golf, visit the award winning Ascension Vineyard for an exclusive wine-tasting and a very pleasant dinner in their fabulous Oak Grill Restaurant.

Two Days Golf and a Fantastic Matakana Wine and Food Experience

Two days and a night in Matakana Country allows you to enjoy your selection of Golf Courses with a special night out and comfortable accommodation at the Quest, Matakana.
Select from two of the following Courses. Mangawhai, Warkworth and Omaha (see panel for more details)
Day One:
Meet at the 1st Course of your choice for a round of golf.
At the end of the round travel back to your accommodation at The Quest Matakana Five Star Luxury Lodge for a swim in the pool or a game of petanque.
Dine that night following an exclusive wine tasting at the Ascension Vineyard, only 10 minutes from your accommodation.
Day Two:
After a continental breakfast in your apartment, head off for your next game.
Experience a second round of golf at one of the other courses and enjoy a light lunch and a drink before heading home.

A Short Break in Matakana - Golf, Gourmet and Relaxation

Enjoy three days and two nights in Matakana Country enjoying three excellent local courses, a great night out and the chance to enjoy top quality accommodation in delightful surroundings.
Day One:
Meet at Omaha Golf Club for a mid-morning briefing introduction, morning tea and a round of golf.
At the conclusion of your round of golf, travel to your accommodation at The Quest Matakana Five Star Luxury Lodge and enjoy a relaxed pool side barbecue.
Day Two:
Travel through to Mangawhai Golf Club approximately 45 minutes north of Matakana. After morning tea you will play one of the higher rated club courses.
Following your round of golf, return to your accommodation and transfer early evening to award-winning Ascension Vineyard for an exclusive wine-tasting and a delightful meal in the winery's Oak Grill Restaurant.
Day Three:
This morning after a continental breakfast in your Chalet you will transfer to Warkworth Golf Club and play the 5,578 metre Club course.
At the conclusion of your round enjoy a late lunch and refreshments in the spacious Clubrooms before your onward journey or your return home.
Carts
Electric Carts are available at each course.
Transport
Local transport between your accommodation and the golf courses and Ascension Vineyard is included in the price. Additional transport to and from Auckland can be arranged.

Matakana Wine Country - other attractions
Matakana Village a couple of years ago was known only for the Morris and James Pottery. These days, it offers a range a boutique shops as well as a Cinema showing both current releases and art films. There are art galleries, lots of cafes and a few wineries to sample.
On Saturday mornings, the Matakana boasts two farmers markets offering the best in local produce, food and wine along with local crafts.
Try surfing at Omaha Beach, go snorkeling or diving at Goat Island Marine reserve or visit Tawharanui Regional park.
